Senior Structural Designer

CPC Engineering is a multi-disciplined engineering design, construction and project management company with a strong reputation for delivering professional, practical and cost-effective services to the resource industry.

We are seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Designer and a Senior Civil / Structural Designer to join our Drawing Office on a staff basis. Contract terms will also be considered for suitable candidates.

This is an excellent opportunity for designers with a strong background in minerals processing to contribute to the design and delivery of major projects across gold, copper and nickel operations.

• Preparation of civil and structural drawings including foundations, footings, platforms, walkways, structural steelwork and general arrangements
• Detailing of structural steel connections, bulk material handling structures and equipment support structures
• Production of concept, preliminary and detailed design drawings through to construction-ready issue
• Working from engineer's calculations, sketches and markups to produce accurate, fit-for-purpose drawings
• Coordination and clash detection with other disciplines (mechanical, piping, electrical) in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Maintaining drawing registers, revision control and documentation in line with company and client standards
• Site measure-ups and verification of existing conditions where required
• Liaising with engineers, project managers and clients to ensure design intent is accurately captured

• Trade or tertiary qualification in Drafting, Design or a related discipline
• Proven experience as a Civil/Structural Designer within the resources or minerals processing sector
• Proficiency in Autodesk products, and ideally Advanced Steel
• Sound understanding of Australian structural and civil design standards
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deliverables to deadlines
• A collaborative, team-first approach and clear communication skills
