Team Leader - SIL house

Position Vacant: Team Leader - SIL House, Redland Bay

Hours: Approx 70 - 76  f/n M-F (Fortnightly day off supported)

Purpose of the Position: Lead a small team of support workers to deliver quality individualised services to participants with a disability.

Team Leaders use their skills, qualifications, and experience to lead, supervise, coordinate, and deliver services in Phoenix Supported Independent Living (SIL) services.

This includes:

• monitoring supports

• developing plans and ensuring effective coordination of client supports or program activities

• providing direct support work, including personal care.

• liaising with families and allied health professionals

• liaising with the service manager  

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

• Experience and commitment to supporting people with disabilities and their families

• Capacity to lead others and work collaboratively as a member of a diverse team

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

• Strong administration skills.

• Experience and/or qualifications in positive behaviour support and the delivery of high intensity supports or the willingness to be trained in such  

• Experience with dementia is desirable but not essential 

Who is suitable for this position?

The successful applicant is a person with experience in direct support work. They may be someone who is looking to expand their skill set into leadership or may be an existing leader.  The person must be an excellent communicator and collaborator who works well with others.

Phoenix Lifestyle Support Association Inc. was the vision of parents who wanted a better life for their children. Services commenced in 1999 for two people and we have been supporting the independence of adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities in the Redlands since that time.   

We are a small, registered service provider with the National Disability Insurance Scheme providing supported independent living (SIL); assistance with self-care activities within a person’s own home; assistance in accessing the community; development of life skills and assistance in meeting NDIS goals. We also run a community hub; where people with disabilities are welcome to come and connect with others through our BYO support worker programs (e.g. art, music, cooking, swimming).  We value the contribution of our participants, staff and community. We are proud to remain a small boutique service provider.
