1x 28 hours per week

Both positions will be required to work 1 evening and 1 Saturday per month

Band 3 Library - Salary Range $69,868 - $73,701 per annum pro rata + 12% Super

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a member of the Libraries and Learning team. In this position you will engage with the community around collections, technology to supporting lifelong learning.

This position reports to Team Leader Library Customer Experience and services both internal and external stakeholders, including library members, library staff, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality customer service at library facilities or outreach points, ensuring customers have a positive library experience characterised by active engagement.
• Proactively assist customers to maximise their use of the library, resources, equipment, technology and online library platforms.
• Under the direction of the shift supervisor, undertake routine library tasks including issuing and returning loans, event bookings, collecting fees, and basic information and directional enquiries.
• Assist with the maintenance of the library collection through efficient shelving of resources, shelf tidying, updating displays and processing of item lists.
• Deliver the day to day bookings, hire and operation of meeting rooms and tenant space across Council's Library and Learning Hub facilities.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• Completion of at least 4 years secondary education plus a short industry-based training course or some on-the-job training.
• Demonstrated customer service, time management and organisational skills with the ability to relate well to a diverse range of people in a busy environment.
• Delivery literacy and learning programs for children and adults, and basic training in the use of library equipment and technology.
• Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
• Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
