We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our established boutique accounting, tax and financial advisory firm in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

The role

You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, providing high-quality accounting, taxation and business advisory services. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of business, investment and individual clients

• Preparation and review of financial statements and tax returns

• Preparation of company, trust, partnership and individual tax returns

• Tax planning and providing practical taxation advice

• Preparation and review of BAS and other compliance obligations

• Providing accounting and business advisory services to clients

• Developing strong, long-term client relationships

• Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and internal processes

• Collaborating with colleagues across the business to deliver exceptional client service

• Liaising with the ATO and other professional advisers

• Reviewing work and mentoring junior team members

• Maintaining high professional and ethical standards

• Taking an active role in the continued growth and development of the practice

About you

We are looking for a senior, technically strong and commercially minded accountant who is ready for the next stage of their career.

You will have:    

• 10+ years' experience in Australian public practice

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting

• CA or CPA qualification

• Strong Australian tax and accounting knowledge

• Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and tax returns

• Significant experience managing a portfolio of clients independently

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• A high level of attention to detail and professional judgement

• The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to the wider team

• A genuine interest in business advisory and client relationships

• Strong experience with cloud-based accounting platforms

• The confidence and maturity to take on increasing responsibility within the practice
