Security Technician - Full Time

A rewarding opportunity exists to join our expanding, forward thinking, electronic security design, and installation company using the latest security products and servicing high profile government, corporate, and commercial clients predominantly located in the Southeast Melbourne metropolitan area including the Mornington Peninsula. Includes local councils, regional airports, pharmaceutical industry, education, AFL clubs, and more.

We are well suited to technicians who enjoy commercial and corporate electronic security, who enjoy working with leading edge security products and innovative multi system, multi site design installation projects, whilst being supported by our internal engineering team.

We consult, design, and install systems for our valued customers and where we are valued in return, and are not just installing other people's tender document designs.

We currently have positions vacant for multiple roles including where you can apply for any of the following.

1. Installation technician - all systems - teamed with other technicians. From basic installation through to team leader positions available (for a good hands on all rounder who loves being on site all day, every day)

2. Junior / trainee installation technician - all systems - teamed with other technicians. Learn the industry from a fresh start (for an energetic and enthusiastic person being on site all day, every day)

3. Experienced service technician - very limited programming required (for a good fault finder who enjoys the “lone wolf” work and completing multiple small service jobs per day)

4. Experienced Integriti and CCTV VMS (and possibly Tecom) installation and programming technician (for a talented cookie who enjoys system commissioning and macro logic)

The roles generally start and finish directly on a customer's site / premises.

System programming roles can be in our office, on site, or some days both!

We promote a healthy work / life balance including no mandatory on call roster or regular remote distance work more than 50km's from our office in Keysborough, therefore ensuring you can plan and enjoy your social / family time and usually be home within 30 minutes if you live in the eastern or south eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Our workload is constant and technically interesting for our long standing and large clients, therefore our valued employees enjoy long term stable employment (we do not employ staff just to fill a temporary workload increase or a large project).

We provide flexi-time where possible including a time in lieu system, RDO's, and including flexibility in when leave of any type can be taken to ensure that you can attend those important life events or planned long weekends away.

We provide all the essentials for applicable roles such as PPE, uniform, take home vehicle, mobile phone, ladders, EWP's, laptop and major corded tools. We include a generous weekly tool allowance for you to provide & maintain your daily hand tools (and then freely use them on weekends during your personal time).

We provide any and all manufacturer training as required for us, and specific to any role.

We do not "pigeon-hole" employees into specific tasks only and we encourage career advancement to a realistic and practical level. But don't worry, if you're not computer savvy and have little interest in the highly technical tasks or you're maybe not a heavy lifter, we usually still have a long term role for you and your valuable skills.

Applicants will need to be "Job Ready" for our licensed electronic security industry including being prepared to obtain the following as quickly as possible during the first 6 months of employment. (As long as the application(s) are proven to be underway we can work through any delays.)

• Hold & maintain a current Victorian Driver License (this one is an immediate and non-negotiable requirement).

• Hold & maintain a current "Workplace Health & Safety" card (Red card, White card etc) (this one is an immediate and non-negotiable requirement).

• Hold or obtain & maintain a current “Private Security Individual Registration” (Security Equipment Installer).

• Hold or obtain & maintain a current Communications Cabler Registration with Structured (S) endorsement.

• Hold or obtain & maintain a current “Working with Children Check”.

• Hold or obtain & maintain a current "Elevated Work Platform" competency registration.

• Hold or obtain & maintain a current "Working at Heights" competency registration.

We have many employees from other similar trades such as electrical, fire, data, and even labourers with good mechanical skills who have enjoyed a change to a more technical career.

Age or gender is no barrier.

As an ideal candidate it would be desirable (but not essential) for you to.

• Have a genuine interest in security / access control systems such as the Inner Range Integriti / Inception systems, and/or late model Tecom systems.

• Have a genuine interest in the latest IP based electronic CCTV security technology & ideas such as corporate VMS systems, Mobotix, Axis, Avigilon, Hikvision, and other related products.

• Have a presentable, neat, and clean “tradesperson” appearance for varying projects from construction work sites through to corporate office environments.

• Have the ability to be a true team member (including possible future team leader / site manager).

• Have an excellent work ethic, punctuality, positive attitude, self motivation, and be comfortable working in a team environment, and alone if performing service work.
