This gives our lawyers the opportunity to work collaboratively with other professionals and gain exposure to clients with a broad range of commercial and personal legal needs.

Due to the continued growth of our practice, we are seeking a lawyer with approximately 1–3 years post-admission experience to join our team.

About the role

Working directly with a Partner, you will assist with and progressively take carriage of matters appropriate to your experience, including:

• commercial agreements and general business advice;

• business sales and acquisitions;

• commercial and retail leasing;

• commercial disputes and litigation;

• debt recovery;

• property and building-related disputes;

• wills, powers of attorney and estate planning;

• probate and estate administration; and

• other general commercial and private-client matters.

You will have direct client contact and genuine responsibility for progressing matters, while receiving Partner guidance and supervision on strategic, technical and complex issues.

This is a broad role suited to a junior lawyer who wants to develop strong commercial judgement, drafting skills and practical file-management experience rather than being confined to one narrow area of practice.

About you

You will:

• have approximately 1–3 years post-admission experience;

• be admitted to practise in Victoria and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current Victorian practising certificate;

• have sound legal research, analysis and drafting skills;

• communicate clearly and professionally with clients and other practitioners;

• manage deadlines, correspondence and competing priorities reliably;

• take responsibility for progressing allocated matters;

• exercise good judgement about when an issue should be escalated;

• have strong attention to detail; and

• approach legal problems in a practical and commercially sensible way.

Experience in commercial law, litigation, property law or wills and estates will be highly regarded. Experience across every area is not required. We are principally looking for a capable, dependable lawyer who is willing to learn and takes pride in producing work to a high professional standard.
