Senior Project Manager – Major Technical Facility $100m+

Great opportunity to join a head contractor with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects. Must have experience in large scale SMP (Structural, Mechanical, Piping), Technical Facilities, Heavy Industry, Industrial Facilities, Processing Facilities etc.
A market leading head contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join their growing business in Newcastle.
As Senior / Project Manager, you will need to have strong front end design experience, commercial acumen, contracts management, design management, OHS, programming / planning experience as well as running meetings with consultants and subcontractors to provide a high-quality service that will ensure client expectations are met and exceeded. Will also need to be able to manage a team of site professionals.
Having previous experience delivering new build large scale technical, processing, heavy industry or industrial facilities with a lot of SMP, welding and pipework is highly compliant environments is highly regarded. ASAP start for the right candidate.
Candidate can be on a fixed term contract for circa 2yrs.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:Design comprehensive project programmes and communicate to teamProject delivery from inception through to completionEnsure construction programmes are followed & deliver on project quality to programmeIdentify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when requiredManage project expenditure and cash flowManagement and achievement of external engineering design aspects of projectsDesign managementManage subcontractors on siteManage and maintain HSEQ requirements on the projectProduce progress reportsDeliver and manage client expectationsRecruitment of teams and managing teams
Qualifications and Requirements:Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similarMinimum 10 - 20 years+ experience in the successful delivery of projects from start to finish ideally from a Tier 1 or 2 or 3 backgroundProven leadership ability in building and motivating teams to deliver high quality projectsDetailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements / standardsStrong planning and project financial reporting skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWell-developed interpersonal skillsExperience with Microsoft Office suiteConstruction Safety Induction (white) card
