Estimator

About the role

As an Estimator, you will take ownership of the estimating process, ensuring tenders are delivered accurately, competitively and within required timeframes. Reporting to the Divisional Manager, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive and commercially sound tenders from initial opportunity through to submission and project handover.

Key responsibilities

• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications, BOQs and client requirements.

• Developing accurate scopes of work and Work Breakdown Structures.

• Measuring quantities and preparing detailed cost estimates.

• Developing construction methodologies, programs, activity durations and sequencing.

• Determining competitive tender pricing and identifying commercial opportunities.

• Engaging subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and alternative solutions.

• Preparing and presenting detailed tender submissions for internal review and approval.

• Attending tender interviews, site inspections and client meetings as required.

• Maintaining the Tender Register and ensuring tender documentation is accurate and up to date.

• Assisting with identifying and pursuing new project opportunities across construction, demolition, recycling and civil construction.

About you

• 5+ years' experience in estimating within piling, foundations or a related sector.

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

• Strong understanding of engineering and construction fundamentals.

• Experience with project scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.

• Excellent ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

• Experience using estimating and construction software.

• Strong commercial and analytical capability.

• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under tender deadlines.
