Gardener/Groundsperson

Work Hours are 6:30AM to 3:36PM Monday to Friday (with an RDO every 5 weeks)

This position will be based at our White Rock Campus with some travel to Kewarra Beach Campus required.

About the role

The successful applicant will be responsible for: 

• Creating vibrant outdoor spaces that promote a sense of calm, inspiration and community pride
• Maintaining the upkeep and improvement of school’s grounds, gardens and lawns, contributing to a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for students and staff
• Contributing to ongoing grounds enhancements and the preparation and care of sporting facilities

You’ll work with a fun and collaborative team that values initiative, attention to detail, and a great sense of humour and learn a lot from your teammates in the process.

About you

To be successful in this role you are:

• A skilled, experienced and enthusiastic gardener
• Experienced in working in the outdoor environment
• Knowledgeable and experienced in horticulture, pest management and plant care (or strong interest to learn)
• Skilled in using horticultural machinery, hand and power tools
• The sort of team player who will put their hand up to contribute, regardless of the task to be done
• A strong communicator and collaborative team member

• CERT III qualification in Horticulture preferred
• Blue Card or Suitability
• HLTAID012 Certificate – Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting
• HLTAID009 Certificate – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
