In this role, you'll:

• Be required to proficiently operate Heavy Rigid vehicles to support road maintenance activities across the region. You’ll operate trucks fitted with Hiab cranes (where licensed and competent), tow trailers carrying plant and equipment, and transport materials required for maintenance works.

• You’ll assist the work with the Road Maintenance Team with a variety of road maintenance activities including drainage works, pavement repairs, concrete and asphalt repairs, guardrail repairs and incident response activities. You’ll be required to undertake manual tasks and perform responsibilities associated with a Road Worker role when not operating the truck.

• Be willing to work overtime and travel when offered

• Be competent working in a high-speed high-volume traffic environment.

• Be willing to participate in approximately 8-12 weeks of night shift per year as operational requirements dictate.

This is Permanent full-time role based in Mittagong. You’ll work a 9-day fortnight roster, generally from 6:00am to 3:00pm, with every second Friday off as a general rule. We are seeking applicants who reside within a 75km radius of the Mittagong depot.

About you

We are looking for an experienced HR Truck Driver who can work effectively within a team environment while maintaining a safe and injury-free workplace for all employees.

You will have the following tickets and experience:

• Current Australian Heavy Rigid (Class HR) Licence

• Current Construction Industry White Card

• Current Traffic Controller Ticket (Desirable)

• Ability to complete work records and effectively communicate with work team.

• Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed. 

• A strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility

• Experience operating a Hiab (truck-mounted) crane is highly desirable

• Experience towing trailers and operating Skid Steer equipment is advantageous
