Team Leader - Painting and decorating

We are looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator / Team Leader to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality finishes, can confidently run jobs and small teams, and understands the standard expected on high-end residential and builder projects.

About the role

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for running day-to-day painting projects and keeping jobs organised and on schedule. You will lead and supervise painters while also working hands-on, and communicate professionally with builders, supervisors, clients and other trades.

Key responsibilities

• Running day-to-day painting projects and keeping jobs organised and on schedule

• Leading and supervising painters while also working hands-on

• Communicating professionally with builders, supervisors, clients and other trades

• Reading job scopes and understanding what is required before commencing work

• Preparing surfaces correctly, including sanding, filling, patching, caulking and priming

• Interior and exterior painting

• Brush, roller and spray application

• Timber preparation, staining and clear finishes

• Working with different coating systems and primers for timber, masonry and metal surfaces

• Checking completed work and ensuring a consistently high standard of finish

About you

• Strong experience in painting and decorating

• Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Team Leader or Supervisor

• Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Strong knowledge of preparation and coating systems

• Ability to run a job and manage other painters without constant supervision

• Good communication and organisational skills

• A professional attitude when dealing with clients and builders

• Reliability and strong work ethic

• Australian driver's licence and reliable transport
