Baker / Apprentice 3rd or 4th year

About the role

Rosetta Store & Bakery is a family owned business in the northern suburbs of Hobart producing a range of savoury and sweet pastries, cakes and slices and a range of bread products for our retail store which also trades as an IGA Supermarket. A full time position is available for an experienced baker or a 3rd or 4th year apprentice who will be responsible for working in all aspects of daily production.

Key responsibilities

• Mixing and working with doughs

• Preparing puff pastry, shortcrust pastry, biscuit doughs

• Making a variety of pies and quiches

• Making cakes and slices

• Working with cream and custard products

• Using commercial ovens

• Working in a seven day roster to include weekends and public holidays

• Early morning starts at 4:00 AM as required for bakery operations

About you

• Australian citizen or permanent resident with valid work rights

• Experience working as a Baker or in a similar role

• Baking Certificate qualifications highly desirable or in training as a 3rd or 4th year apprentice

• Minimum 2 years of baking experience required for non-apprentice candidates

• Excellent baking skills with strong attention to detail

• Ability to prioritise tasks, resolve problems and meet deadlines

• Good communication and numeracy skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions

• Self motivated and able to work independently

• Good organisation skills, reliable and demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team

• Positive, energetic and friendly attitude and a passion for producing high quality products
