Team Leader, People Services

Reporting to the Manager, People Services, this is a hands-on leadership role supporting the Immigration Detention Network. You'll be responsible for overseeing high-volume HR processes, managing complex employee queries, improving workflows and ensuring compliance with contractual, legislative and organisational requirements.   

You'll work closely with leaders, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Payroll and the broader People & Culture team.  

• Lead compliance-focussed People Services activities across a highly regulated operational environment 

• Monitor compliance requirements, pre-employment screening activities and workforce governance processes 

• Partner with leaders to ensure workforce processes align with contractual and regulatory requirements 

• Coach and develop a team of People Services Officers (3 FTE) 

• Support escalated employee and manager enquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolution 

• Manage high-volume workflows and a shared inbox 

• Develop and maintain HR processes, SOPs and service standards 

• Analyse HR data, trends and reporting to identify opportunities for improvement.  

You may already be leading a team, or you may be an experience HR Coordinator with strong technical HR knowledge who is ready to step into your first leadership role.  

You'll bring

• Experience leading, supervising or coordinating a team within a HR or shared service operations environment 

• Strong knowledge if the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements 

• Experience managing HR administration throughout the employee lifecycle 

• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop team members 

• Experience managing high-volume workloads and service delivery requirements
