Data Analyst

This is an exciting opportunity to join Hyundai Capital Australia (HCAU) during a period of significant growth! HCAU is the Australian finance provider for Hyundai, Kia and Genesis, delivering innovative finance solutions that support the Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) brands. HMG is Korea's 2nd largest conglomerate focusing on automobiles, auto parts, finance and more.

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to support our data-driven initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, and hands-on experience with dashboards development projects using Power-BI. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver insights, enhance data processes, and contribute to business decision-making by providing meaningful insights.

What you’ll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Collect, clean, validate, and analyse data from multiple sources to identify trends, issues, and business opportunities.
• Translate business requirements into analytical outputs, reports, and dashboards that support decision-making.
• Improve reporting efficiency by automating recurring reports and enhancing dashboard usability.
• Write, optimise, and maintain complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including business, finance, operations, IT, and other project teams.
• Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support business decision-making.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality through validation and monitoring processes.
• Develop and maintain reporting documentation, user training materials and process maps etc.

Your skills & experience:

• Ideally 3+ years experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar analytics/reporting role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modelling, DAX measures, and report optimisation.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience writing complex queries for analysis, reporting, and data validation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a structured and organised manner.
• Strong project management skills, including stakeholder communication, timeline management, and requirement gathering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into business insights.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
• Hands-on experience with database development (e.g., schema creation, stored procedures, indexing, ETL processes) is highly preferred.
• Solid programming skills in Python, particularly for data manipulation (e.g., pandas), automation, and scripting is highly preferred.
