About the role
Cringila Public School is a small primary school with a current enrolment of 155 students, situated on Dharawal Country, home to the people of the Five Islands Dreaming, beside Lake Illawarra and the escarpment. The school support a diverse, multicultural community with students and families from many nationalities contributing to our rich school culture. Within our student population, 11 students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Additionally, 80% of the student population has a language background other than English representing fifteen different language backgrounds. The most spoken languages are Arabic, Macedonian and Turkish. Our school motto, 'A Caring and Cultural Community', underpins all that we do.
All students are supported through tailored, individualised, evidenced-based and differentiated teaching. We prepare students for success with a focus on wellbeing, academic growth and social and emotional intelligence. Every child is known, valued and cared for through strong connections with culture, families and the wider community.
Cringila Public School is excited to be opening our new public preschool, pending building and regulatory approvals. This initiative is part of the NSW Government’s commitment to deliver 100 new public preschools by 2027.

General Selection CriteriaAn approachable and visible leader with a strong commitment to enhancing positive wellbeing through addressing the social, emotional, and cultural needs of students, staff, and families, showcasing the ability to foster a positive, inclusive whole school community.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
