Workshop Controller | Ipswich Mazda

Are you an experienced automotive professional ready to take the next step in your leadership career? Ipswich Mazda is looking for a highly organised and driven Workshop Controller to help lead our busy service department and support our technicians in delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Reporting to Service Manager Matt, a respected automotive leader with 22 years of experience across the Eagers Automotive network, you'll be responsible for supporting the efficient running of the workshop, ensuring strong team performance, operational excellence, and exceptional customer outcomes.

About the Role
As Workshop Controller, you'll be responsible for coordinating workflow throughout the workshop, supporting technicians, and ensuring repair orders are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. You'll work closely with the Service Advisors and Parts team to keep operations running smoothly and customers informed.

Key Responsibilities

• Allocate and manage daily workshop workloads

• Monitor technician productivity and efficiency

• Ensure repairs are completed safely, accurately, and on time

• Provide technical guidance and support to workshop staff

• Liaise with Service Advisors and Parts personnel to optimise workflow

• Assist in maintaining workshop quality control standards

• Support the development and mentoring of technicians and apprentices

• Drive a culture focused on customer satisfaction and operational excellence

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman, Team Leader or Senior Technician

• Strong leadership and organisational skills

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

• Current driver's licence

• A strong commitment to workplace safety and customer service

• Experience within a dealership environment will be highly regarded
