About The Opportunity

An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to join Yandal Resources, a company committed to technical excellence, safety and meaningful exploration outcomes in Western Australia's premier goldfields.

In this senior technical leadership role, you will drive geological interpretation, target generation and exploration program delivery across a portfolio of highly prospective gold exploration projects. Working at the intersection of science and strategy, you will integrate geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets to identify and prioritise exploration targets, while leading and mentoring a talented team of geologists and field personnel.

This role is ideal for a technically credible, hands-on exploration geologist who thrives in remote field environments, brings deep knowledge of orogenic and greenstone-hosted gold systems, and is ready to take a leadership position at a company with a genuine commitment to discovery.

What You Will Be Doing

·        Lead the design, planning and execution of gold exploration programs including mapping, geochemistry, AC, RC and diamond drilling

·        Integrate geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets to develop geological models and generate, rank and prioritise exploration targets

·        Supervise exploration teams and contractors in the field, ensuring activities are delivered safely and to the highest technical standards

·        Manage logging, sampling, QAQC and data validation processes across all exploration programs

·        Prepare high-quality technical reports, exploration plans and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

·        Monitor and manage exploration expenditure, program performance and project timelines

·        Mentor, coach and develop junior geologists and field personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture

·        Liaise with landholders, Traditional Owners, contractors and regulatory stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and meet statutory obligations

·        Ensure all exploration activities are conducted in strict compliance with WHS (Mines) legislation, environmental and heritage requirements, and Company procedures

·        Contribute to exploration strategy and support resource growth and project advancement objectives

About You

You are a technically strong, field-ready exploration geologist with a passion for discovery and a track record of delivering results in orogenic gold environments. You will bring:

·        8 or more years’ experience in gold exploration, with demonstrated expertise in geological interpretation, target generation and exploration program delivery

·        Deep understanding of orogenic and greenstone-hosted gold deposit systems

·        Proven experience designing and executing mapping, geochemistry, AC, RC and diamond drilling programs

·        Demonstrated experience supervising exploration teams and contractors in remote field environments

·        A track record of mentoring and developing geologists and field personnel

·        Proficiency in geological modelling and GIS software including Micromine, QGIS and ioGAS

·        Strong understanding of drilling techniques, sampling protocols and QAQC procedures

·        Sound knowledge of WA mining legislation, exploration compliance, and environmental and heritage requirements

·        Excellent technical reporting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills

·        Tertiary Degree in Geology (Honours preferred)

·        Current C Class Driver’s Licence (Manual), Senior First Aid Certificate and Defensive 4WD Driving Certificate

·        Eligibility for membership with a recognised professional geological organisation

·        Ability and willingness to work on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster in remote environments
