Grocery Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the grocery department (stock ordering, inventory control, product rotation)

• Maintain high standards of product presentation, cleanliness, and merchandising. Working with local suppliers to source new and exciting products

• Lead, coach and schedule staff; ensure excellent customer service is delivered consistently

• Monitor and analyse sales & KPI data; implement strategies to grow turnover and margins

• Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety and store policies

• Assist with budgeting, cost control and shrink minimisation

• Previous experience in grocery department management (retail or supermarket environment)

• Strong leadership skills; ability to motivate, train and manage a team

• Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills

• Analytical mindset; comfortable working with numbers, sales reports, and inventory metrics

• Hands‑on, proactive, able to adapt in a fast‑paced setting

• Knowledge of relevant regulations around food safety, hygiene, workplace safety
