The Role

We are currently seeking a qualified Chef to join our team at Juniper Riverslea in a Full-time capacity. Reporting to the Residential Manager and working in partnership with the Hospitality Services Manager, the Chef is responsible for providing appropriate, nutritious and enjoyable meals for our customers in accordance with Juniper’s cyclic menus, DINE standards and Food Safety Program.

The successful candidate must be available to work Saturday to Wednesday 0800 to 1600.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals in accordance with Juniper’s cyclic and seasonal menusEnsure adherence to safe food handling, HACCP and infection control standardsMaintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environmentMonitor portion control, minimize food wastage and manage stock effectivelyOrder and control stock within food cost guidelinesSupervise and direct kitchen staff in line with DINE standardsParticipate in customer meetings and incorporate feedback into menu planningEnsure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant legislation

Key Requirements

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)Food Safety Supervisor CertificateExperience in a commercial cooking and/or aged care catering environmentExperience managing bulk ordering and stock controlStrong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and infection control standardsUnderstanding of dietary requirements for older people (including IDDSI standards)Ability to manage food budgets and cost controlsStrong organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated leadership and team direction capability
