Assistant Shop Manager

Role Description The Assistant Shop Manager at Berwick Pool and Spa Shop is a full-time, on-site role based in Berwick, VIC. The role involves supporting the Shop Manager with day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures, stock monitoring, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, safe shop environment. The Assistant Shop Manager will assist customers with product selection, provide advice on pool and spa care, process sales, and handle inquiries and issues to ensure a positive customer experience. This role also includes supervising team members during shifts, helping to schedule staff, and ensuring that service standards and store policies are consistently met. The Assistant Shop Manager will contribute to sales targets, and provide feedback to improve store performance and customer satisfaction.QualificationsStrong Communication skills to interact effectively with customers, team members, and suppliers.Operations Management and Store Management skills to support day-to-day running of the shop and oversee basic administrative tasks.Customer Service and Customer Experience skills to deliver friendly, knowledgeable assistance and maintain high service standards.Experience in retail, hospitality, or a related customer-facing environment, ideally with supervisory responsibilities.Ability to work on-site full time, including Saturdays as required.Basic knowledge of pool and spa products with a willingness to learn technical product information and water care principles.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability in handling cash, inventory, and store procedures.Comfort using point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications.
