Cafe Assistant (Barista)

The Opportunity

Café Panini is nestled into our busy Bunbury Retravision store, and we are excited to be looking for a full-time experienced Barista with a passion for front of house customer service to join our team. No weekend work but availability to work school holidays is essential.

About You

We do have the loveliest customers, and we are looking for someone who truly understands customers are the bedrock for our mutual growth and long-term success.

Ideally, you will be an experienced barista with a passion for customer service and will be able to help out in the kitchen when required. You will be able to undertake food preparation, cash handling, take orders, reservations and catering requests as needed.

Essential requirements

• Availability to work school holidays

• Demonstrated experience as a Barista who is passionate about making coffee and other hot beverages

• Have a positive attitude and great customer service

• Professional and reliable

• High volume experience being able to work on multiple orders at once

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure

• Good at cash handling and multi-tasking

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

• Demonstrated understanding of workplace, health and safety

• Police Clearance (less than 2 months old)

• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

• A valid current Western Australian Driver’s Licence

 Desirable requirements

• Completed a FoodSafe Food Handler Training Program (if not, you will need to complete prior to starting)

• Latte art

• Ability to make cakes and bake

• Current RSA certificate

• We also have wine on our menu and a being a certified Approved Manager would be an advantage.

About Us

One of the South-West’s much loved family businesses and Employer of Choice, Dorsett Retail Pty Ltd, incorporated Café Panini in their Bunbury Retravision store in 2009.  The Café is popular with customers, is a licensed venue and also provides outside catering. 

Retravision is a big group with a family feel, and we are proudly a fourth-generation family business, with three generations of the Dorsett family currently working within the group.  The Dorsett family are well known and respected within the community. The Dorsett Group currently employs approximately 200 staff.
