Experienced Chef (appr. 25 hours)

About the role

Glenelg Golf Club Inc. is seeking an Experienced Chef to join our culinary team on a casual basis, working approximately 25 hours per week. This role is based at our venue in Novar Gardens, SA 5040. As an Experienced Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals to our members and guests, maintaining our reputation for excellence in food and beverage service. This is a key position that directly impacts the dining experience and satisfaction of our club members and guests.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a high standard, ensuring consistency and quality in all meals served

• Managing food preparation areas, including prep work, cooking, plating and presentation of dishes

• Maintaining strict hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with relevant regulations and club policies

• Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during busy periods

• Managing food costs and minimising wastage whilst maintaining portion sizes and quality

• Following established recipes and menus whilst demonstrating creativity in dish development where appropriate

• Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and used safely

• Contributing to a positive team environment

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a hospitality or catering environment, ideally within a club or restaurant setting and completed apprenticeship or Cert III in Commercial Cookery

• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and food safety practices

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, particularly during service periods, whilst maintaining attention to detail

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Relevant food safety and hygiene qualifications or certifications (such as Food Safety Supervisor Certificate)

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

• Flexibility to work casual hours, including potential weekend and evening shifts

• A passion for delivering high-quality food and providing excellent member experiences
