Collections Officer

Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Collections Officer to join our expanding team and support our ongoing success.

As a NOW Finance Collections Officer, you will use various skip tracing tools to service overdue accounts. Terms are to be negotiated by understanding each individual customer’s circumstances and financial needs, leveraging your strong relationship building skills.

You are the representative liaising with our valued customers, providing excellent customer service over the phone (inbound and outbound) and via email. You will have a solid understanding of all principles governing current collection activity and policies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct outbound and inbound collection calls in high volumes

• Successfully identify customers experiencing financial hardship

• Recommend alternative collection activities, such as hardship plans, repossessions, field calls, or legal action

• Conduct investigations and skip-tracing

• Take end-to-end accountability for accounts assigned to you

• Understand and comply with all regulatory requirements and quality standards

• Maintain strong attention to detail and integrity in all tasks

Key Attributes & Experience:

• Strong customer service skills, with experience assisting and responding to customers over the phone or face-to-face

• Strong experience in a collections environment, particularly supporting customers in financial difficulty

• Skip tracing experience and knowledge of skip tracing tools are desired

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and navigate challenging conversations

• A solutions-focused approach and the ability to make informed decisions to resolve a customer’s financial situation

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet expectations
