Occupational Therapist

About The Role

The 14-month full-time (Oct 26 to Dec 27) Occupational Therapist Level 3 role located at Braeside Hospital in Prairiewood is to work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Occupational Therapy service is provided to patients of the Hospital, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The Occupational Therapist will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient-centred, evidence-based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare and Occupational Therapy Australia.

The Senior Occupational Therapist will support the Occupational Therapy Manager in the leadership and development of the Occupational Therapy service.

HammondCare is a NSW Health-affiliated organisation all NSW Health transferrable entitlements will be recognised.

Provision of effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carersParticipate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in assessing patients’ level of functional and care needs, setting care goals and providing appropriate treatmentParticipate as a member of the HammondCare team in the application of the organisation’s Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a client-centred, continuous quality improvement work environment

About You

A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRASignificant practical experience or Extensive Knowledge in providing Occupational Therapy Services in a Rehabilitation, Aged Care or Palliative Care setting. Experience across inpatient and outpatient/ community settings would be desirableExperience in staff supervisionA current driver’s licence and safe driving recordWillingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and servicesEffective communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated organisation and time management skillsAble to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamExperience in conducting home assessments and equipment prescriptionDemonstrated experience in pressure care and pressure injury management.Empathy and patience
