About the role

Hall Civil & Earthworks Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Final Trim Grader Operator to join our team around Mackay, QLD. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst maintaining the high standards our clients expect. As a Final Trim Grader Operator, you will play a crucial role in the final stages of construction projects, ensuring precision grading and finishing work that meets stringent specifications and quality standards. Your expertise will directly impact project success and client satisfaction, making this a key position within our operations team.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Cat graders with precision to achieve final trim levels and specifications on construction sites

• Read and interpret construction plans, drawings and GPS/ UTS coordinates to ensure accurate grading and finishing

• Maintain equipment in good working order, performing routine maintenance checks and reporting any mechanical issues

• Monitor site conditions and adjust grading operations to accommodate weather and ground conditions

• Communicate effectively with site supervisors, engineers and other team members to ensure project requirements are met

• Comply with all health and safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols

• Document daily work activities and maintain accurate records of grading operations

• Assist with other earthworks and plant operations as required to support project delivery

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Grader Operator, particularly in final trim and finishing applications using Trimble UTS

• Advanced proficiency in operating motor graders and GPS/ UTS -guided grading systems

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction specifications

• Sound knowledge of construction methods, site safety procedures and relevant legislation

• Experience with equipment maintenance and pre-start checks

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with supervisors and site personnel

• A valid driver's licence and current operator's ticket or equivalent certification

• Flexibility to work part-time hours as required by project schedules and rosters

• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety practices on construction sites

• Reliability and punctuality in meeting work schedules
