We're looking for a commercially driven and highly accomplished Category Manager with a proven track record of delivering category growth, identifying new opportunities, launching innovative products, and creating meaningful competitive advantage. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building businesses, challenging the status quo, and turning ambitious growth strategies into commercial results.

You'll have the autonomy to influence category strategy, secure sought-after and exclusive brand partnerships, accelerate innovation, and create compelling customer experiences that differentiate Target in the market. You'll also play a pivotal role in defining the future of our Beauty offer, including the development of a long-term private label and product innovation strategy.

What You Will Do

As Category Manager Beauty, you will lead the strategic direction, growth and performance of the Beauty category, driving both short and long-term commercial success.

This is not a traditional category management role. It's an opportunity to build something significant. Working alongside a passionate and high-performing team, you'll help unlock a substantial growth opportunity, shape the next chapter of Target Beauty, and make everyday living brighter for millions of customers across Australia.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and executing a clear category strategy that establishes Target as a recognised beauty destination.
• Building a compelling portfolio of premium, sought-after and exclusive beauty brands aligned to customer needs and emerging trends.
• Identifying and securing strategic brand partnerships through commercial negotiations and relationship management.
• Driving sales, profitability and market share growth across the category.
• Leading end-to-end category planning, ranging, pricing and promotional strategies.
• Creating an elevated and inspiring in-store beauty experience in partnership with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Space Planning and Store Operations teams.
• Accelerating speed to market by delivering seamless execution from brand acquisition through to launch.
• Identifying future growth opportunities, including the development of a longer-term private label beauty strategy.
• Leading and developing a high-performing team including Buyers, Planners and Buying Assistants.
• Partnering across the broader Kmart Group to maximise opportunities and deliver outstanding customer outcomes.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a commercially minded, customer-focused category leader who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and can balance strategic thinking with flawless execution.

You'll bring:

• Significant experience in Category Management, Buying or Merchandise leadership within Beauty, FMCG, Health & Wellness or related retail categories.
• A proven track record of delivering strong sales growth, margin improvement and category performance.
• Experience managing strategic supplier relationships and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Strong knowledge of beauty trends, brands and customer behaviours.
• Exceptional commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and turn insights into action.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• A passion for creating compelling customer experiences and building differentiated category propositions.
• The ability to navigate complexity, drive change and deliver results at pace.
