As a member of the Leadership team at Gertrude Abbott Surry Hills, you will be managing the smooth operation of the home’s commercial kitchen and dining service, enabling our residents to enjoy a variety of fresh, nutritious meals on a daily basis. The dining experience for our residents is really important, meals needs to be creatively presented and tasty.

About The Role

Preparing fresh and nutritious meals for residents in line with their dietary needsManaging all resources within the kitchen including equipment and food supplies within your approved budgetMaintaining a hygienically clean kitchen that is fully compliant with the Aged Care quality standards

To be successful in this role you’ll need

A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderlyStrong communication skills and a positive attitudeExperience leading a teamCertificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) Basic Food safety Practices CertificateGood understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygieneUnderstanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safetyAn understanding of modified dietsAbility to work independently and part of a multi-disciplinary teamAble to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain
