Video Digital Producer

What's the role?

We are looking for a digitally savvy, politically and globally informed Digital Producer to ensure News24 is first to break stories online while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and integrity. In this role, you will produce compelling written and video content across both hard news and lifestyle topics for News24.com.au and social platforms.
 

About the role:

• Identify, produce, and publish breaking news, developing stories, and lifestyle content that is accurate, timely, and aligned with News24 editorial standards.

• Write sharp, clean, and concise copy, headlines, and summaries that capture attention while maintaining accuracy and impartiality.

• Identify and extract newsworthy and engaging moments from News24 television broadcasts, converting broadcast interviews, opinion segments, and exclusives into digital-ready articles and videos.

• Write accompanying copy, titles, descriptions, and tags that optimize engagement and search performance, and select stills, graphics, and videos that enhance storytelling.

• Monitor performance analytics and audience engagement to inform future editorial and publishing decisions.

• Balance speed and precision to ensure all content is published quickly without compromising factual accuracy or clarity.

• Follow digital publishing procedures, metadata conventions, and CMS workflows to ensure consistency and accuracy across all outputs.

Who are you?

• You make sound, independent editorial decisions under pressure with a strong sense for what matters to digital audiences across both news and lifestyle content.

• You are proficient in CMS platforms, metadata conventions, SEO practices, and video publishing workflows.

• You produce clean, accurate, and concise copy across articles, headlines, video titles, and social captions.

• You hold broad and current knowledge of political, domestic, and global affairs as well as lifestyle trends across both Australian and international contexts.

• You apply a rigorous approach to fact-checking, verifying information, and ensuring all published output meets the highest standards of factual integrity.

• You perform at a high standard under deadline pressure in a fast-paced, continuous news environment, maintaining resilience and adaptability.

• You work effectively across teams, communicating clearly with producers, reporters, and editors to support coordination during fast-moving news situations.
