Associate / Senior Associate – Dispute Resolution

About the role

We’re open on level for the right person. As a Senior Associate, or an experienced Associate ready to take on more, you’ll step into a leading dispute resolution team acting for key clients including a prominent Queensland professional indemnity insurer. We’ll shape responsibility around your experience, so you’ll get real carriage where you’re ready for it and genuine support where needed.

What you can expect to be doing:

• Handling professional indemnity, public liability and general commercial litigation including shareholder disputes, property disputes and private client matters
• Driving matters to settlement through negotiation, mediation and early case strategy, and litigating those that proceed
• Drafting pleadings, applications and correspondence, and preparing advice on liability, contribution/apportionment, quantum and commercial risk
• Being a day-to-day point of contact for clients on your matters, keeping them across progress and strategy
• Working directly with senior practitioners on complex, high-value matters

About you

You’re an experienced Associate or Senior Associate looking to join a team that’s genuinely passionate about dispute resolution. You can take real carriage of matters, and you’re equally comfortable running things with autonomy or working closely with a Partner where a matter calls for it.

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:

• 4-5 years PAE as an Associate or recently appointed Senior Associate within commercial dispute resolution and litigation
• Ideally professional indemnity and/or public liability insurance experience
• Strong legal drafting, research and analytical capability
• Well-developed advocacy and client liaison skills
• A collaborative approach and genuine enthusiasm for working as part of a team to achieve exceptional outcomes for clients
