We’re looking for a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager to play a key role in building and shaping Global X Australia’s fixed income capability at an exciting stage of growth.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management, you’ll have ownership of the day-to-day portfolio management of our fixed income ETFs and selected equity ETFs. Bringing your fixed income investment experience to our high-performing team, you will influence how we manage portfolios and shape the ongoing evolution of our investment framework. You will play a key part in shaping new product development and help bring new ETF strategies to market.

Your expertise will lead the development of the firm’s fixed income capability, contributing to portfolio construction, product development and the ongoing enhancement of our investment processes.

You’ll work closely with our Investment Strategy, Product, Operations and Compliance teams to ensure our funds meet their objectives within a robust, scalable investment framework.

What you’ll do

• Own the end-to-end portfolio management and trading of fixed income and selected equity ETFs, accountable for funds operating in line with investment objectives and regulatory requirements.

• Execute trades relating to index changes, cash flows, corporate actions, currency hedging and portfolio optimisation.

• Monitor portfolio exposures, risk metrics, performance and tracking error — identifying and resolving issues as they arise.

• Partner with market makers and support capital markets activities.

• Champion best practice across portfolio management, identifying opportunities to improve automation, scalability, risk controls and operational efficiency.

• Enrich the ongoing management of our fixed income ETF offering, alongside reporting, regulatory, compliance and cross-functional responsibilities.

• Help shape and expand our fixed income capability by contributing to new product development, portfolio construction and investment process enhancements.

What you’ll bring

• Degree-level education or equivalent (e.g. CFA).

• A minimum of 10 years’ investment experience in fixed income portfolio management, trading or ETF management, including hands-on responsibility for running portfolios or mandates.

• Strong understanding of fixed income markets, instruments and trading practices.

• The ability to prioritise, make decisions and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• A strong risk management mindset and sharp attention to detail.

• Familiarity with fixed income trading platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, MarketAxess, TradeWeb) and Aladdin would be highly regarded.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
