Mechanical Fitter

I’m seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for multiple ongoing roles across the Sydney metro region. Working within manufacturing and industrial sites, you'll be joining an established maintenance team completing a mix of service, breakdown, and project work across a variety of plant and equipment. These roles offer genuine long term, consistent work with a reputable operation that values reliability and trade skill.

Systems you'll be working on:

• Conveyor systems, rollers, idlers, and drive units
• Gearboxes, couplings, and drive shafts
• Pumps (centrifugal and positive displacement) and associated seals
• Bearings, bushes, and rotating equipment
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, cylinders, and valves
• Compressors and air handling equipment
• Packaging, processing, and production line machinery
• Fixed and mobile plant as required on site

  
Responsibilities:

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on plant, machinery, and mechanical equipment
• Responding to breakdowns and completing fault-finding to identify root causes
• Repairing, replacing, and adjusting mechanical components including bearings, seals, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and drive systems
• Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment and project works
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, manuals, and maintenance schedules
• Using precision measuring tools and following correct fitting and alignment procedures
• Completing job cards, maintenance logs, and reports accurately
• Working safely around plant and equipment, including isolation, lockout/tagout, and permit-to-work procedures
• Liaising with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime and prioritise work

  
Licences required:

• Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting
• White Card
• Working at Heights
• Confined Space
• EWP
