Maintenance Engineer

Location: Lobs Hole, NSW (Near Canberra)Roster: 14 Days On / 7 Days Off (14/7 FIFO Roster)
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a background in Hydropower or Power Generation to lead maintenance planning, predictive maintenance, and asset lifecycle management for a large-scale power generation facility. This role will also support Operational Risk Management, ensuring maintenance activities align with industry best practices and risk management standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement the Maintenance Management Plan, including preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximise plant reliability and performance.Review and improve Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, maintenance procedures, operational documentation, and asset preservation strategies.Lead and coordinate maintenance activities during construction, commissioning, and operational phases while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.Deliver technical training on predictive maintenance and equipment maintenance, and prepare customer training materials and documentation.Support operational risk management by participating in risk workshops, maintaining risk registers, updating risk management systems, and ensuring compliance with ISO 31000 principles.
Key Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering discipline.5+ years of experience in maintenance and operations within a Hydropower Plant, Power Generation Plant, or Energy Plant, including at least 3 years in hydropower or a similar industry.Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centred maintenance, asset lifecycle management, and O&M documentation.Exposure to operational risk management with a sound understanding of the ISO 31000 risk management framework.Excellent stakeholder management, communication, training, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional engineering teams.
