About the role
We are looking to employ a qualified and highly motivated Swimming Pool Compliance Officer to join our Compliance and Enforcement team on a permanent full-time basis.
As a Swimming Pool Compliance Officer, you will join a progressive and collaborative team whose mission is to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our community, by ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation pertaining to swimming pool safety. Some of your responsibilities will be to:
Lead Council’s Swimming Barrier Inspection Program.
Administer, assess and enforce development and building legislation.
Provide specialist advice and assessment of swimming pool barriers.
Conduct investigations and prepare reports on non-compliant swimming pool barriers.
Represent Council at Court matters where applicable.
Ensure that properties containing swimming pools are equipped with compliant barriers and safety measures to protect public safety.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic member to join our team with excellent customer service skills, thorough knowledge of the legislation, sound negotiation skills and the ability to manage a number of competing complex priorities. You will be a high achiever with:
Appropriate qualifications or one of the recognised qualifications for accreditation as a Swimming Pool Inspector by Fair Trading NSW.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant building and planning legislation.
Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations and taking enforcement action.
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to the provision of excellent customer service.
Ability to work effectively, independently and collaboratively as part of a team environment.
Demonstrated problem-solving, conflict-resolution and negotiation skills.
Computer literacy.
Current Class C drivers licence.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles.
