Intermediate Tax Accountant

We are a busy and well-established CPA practice located in Berwick with a large and diverse client base. We provide professional accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, and business advisory services to individuals and businesses across a range of industries.

We are currently seeking a well-organised, confident, and motivated accounting professional to join our team on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week (22.5 hours).

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of Individual, Partnership, Trust, Company, and Superannuation Fund tax returns

• Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS

• Preparation of financial statements for all entity types

• Bookkeeping and account reconciliations

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation

• Liaising with the ATO and ASIC on client matters

• Assisting clients with taxation and compliance enquiries

• Managing multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years' recent experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm, managing a high volume of taxation compliance work (this is an essential requirement).

• Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements

• Demonstrated experience using HandiTax, Xero and MYOB (experience with all three is highly desirable).

• Relevant qualifications in Accounting and/or Taxation

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team

• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

• Professional presentation and client-focused approach

• Valid Australian work visa is required for this position
