About the role

Sushi Train St Peters Station is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join the kitchen team on a full-time basis. This role is essential to maintaining food quality, kitchen efficiency, and smooth daily operations in a fast-paced and customer-focused dining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a range of Japanese dishes, including sushi, rolls and hot menu items, in accordance with established recipes and standards
• Assist with daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency and quality
• Prepare ingredients, including rice, seafood, vegetables and sauces
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in compliance with regulations
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods
• Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are kept clean and well maintained

About you

• Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• At least 1 year of relevant full-time experience as a Cook or similar role
• Experience in Japanese cuisine or sushi preparation is highly regarded
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Good communication skills and a positive team attitude
