CNC Machine Operator

About the role

Remington Steel is seeking skilled and experienced CNC Machine Operators for both day shift and afternoon shift to join our manufacturing team at our Derrimut, Victoria facility. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our production operations, ensuring the precision manufacturing of steel components to the highest quality standards. As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machinery, contributing directly to our ability to deliver excellent results to our clients.

What you'll be doing

• Setting up and configuring CNC machines in accordance with production specifications and technical drawings

• Operating CNC machinery to manufacture steel components with precision and accuracy

• Monitoring machine performance and output quality throughout production runs

• Conducting routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance

• Performing quality control checks and measurements on finished components using appropriate measuring tools

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions

• Troubleshooting minor machine issues and reporting significant problems to supervisors

• Maintaining accurate production records and documentation

• Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental protocols in the workplace

• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing team

What we're looking for

• Proven experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of CNC programming concepts and machine functions

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

• Proficiency with measuring tools and quality control procedures

• Knowledge of machining processes and materials, particularly steel

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

• Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude

• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious approach to work

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in machine operations (preferred)

• Experience with specific CNC software or systems (advantageous)
