Sourcing Specialist

About the Role

This is a fast-paced role for a company that brings to market a diverse range of products including everything from lawn mowers to outdoor furniture to BBQs to fitness equipment and kids toys.

As a Sourcing Specialist you will assume responsibility for bringing to market leading brands and product categories that are sold on several online channels.

This role is based at our Seven Hills office, you will be exposed to all things product related - from conception to commercialisation.

This is a key role responsible for identifying new products, developing and managing supplier relationships, negotiating competitive costs, and supporting the development of our private-label product range.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product & Supplier Sourcing

Identify new products, manufacturers and sourcing opportunities, by researching the market, building supplier networks and selecting suitable suppliers based on product capability, quality, pricing, MOQ, capacity and reliability.

2. Product Development

Managing supplier engagement, product modifications, sample development, specifications and target costs from initial concept through to final product approval.

3. Costing & Commercial Negotiation

Obtain and benchmark supplier quotations, establish realistic target costs and negotiate product pricing, MOQ, tooling, packaging, payment terms and other commercial conditions to achieve competitive margins and identify ongoing cost-saving opportunities.

4. Supplier Evaluation & Relationship Management

Assess, develop and maintain a strong network of strategic suppliers, monitoring their manufacturing capability, quality, capacity, lead times, reliability and overall performance while identifying opportunities to improve supplier competitiveness and reduce supply risk.

5. Cross-functional Sourcing Support

Work closely with Marketing team, Merchandisers, Quality and Supply Chain teams to provide sourcing expertise, supplier and market insights, ensure effective handover of new products, and support the successful execution of the product development and sourcing strategy abilities.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially driven, resourceful and hands-on, with the ability to independently find solutions rather than simply follow existing supplier lists.

You will ideally have:

• 3–5+ years' experience in sourcing, procurement, product development or supplier management.

• Experience working with oversea factories and suppliers.

• Experience in OEM/private-label product development is highly desirable.

• Strong supplier sourcing and negotiation skills.

• Good understanding of product costing, MOQ, lead times and manufacturing processes.

• Strong commercial and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Strong English communication skills; Mandarin language skills would be highly advantageous.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• A proactive approach and strong attention to detail.

• Permanent resident of Australia, residing in Sydney
