Pre-Sales Solution Architect – Microsoft

The Opportunity

Copilot, Zero Trust security, and modern work are reshaping how Australian and New Zealand organisations run — and our partners are looking to Tech Data to help them seize it. We’re looking for a Pre-Sales Solution Architect to be the technical face of our Microsoft practice: part architect, part evangelist, part coach. This is a genuinely outward-facing role — you’ll spend your time in front of resellers and their customers delivering thought leadership, running envisioning workshops, presenting webinars, and enabling partners to build thriving Modern Work, Security, and Copilot businesses.

You’ll join a high-energy, highly certified team that partners closely with Microsoft to accelerate reseller success across ANZ.

The Role

• Be the technical owner of Microsoft opportunities — partnering with our Business Development Managers and Microsoft’s Partner Development Managers and Solution Architects to accelerate pipeline across Modern Work, Security, and Copilot.

• Design solutions across Microsoft 365, Teams, Intune, Entra ID, Defender XDR, Sentinel, Purview, and Microsoft 365 Copilot — grounded in Zero Trust and responsible-AI best practice.

• Run envisioning & “Art of the Possible” workshops that turn Copilot and security concepts into real business outcomes for partners and their customers.

• Deliver webinars, enablement sessions, and partner workshops — building the capability of the reseller community and lifting the whole ecosystem.

• Be a visible thought leader — publish on LinkedIn, blog, speak at user groups and industry events, and grow both the Tech Data and your own personal brand in the ANZ Microsoft community.

• Mentor and uplift partner technical teams and our own COE Solution Architects and engineers on their Microsoft certification and pre-sales journey.

• Drive partner programs & funded engagements — Copilot workshops, Threat Protection and Data Security engagements, Solutions Partner designations and Specializations, and funding-claim delivery.

What the Successful Candidate will bring to the role

• 5+ years in pre-sales / solution architecture, with real depth in Microsoft 365, Modern Work, and/or Security.

• Hands-on experience across core M365 and security workloads — Teams, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and Purview.

• Practical Copilot & AI experience — Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Copilot for Security, Azure OpenAI, and responsible-AI adoption.

• Microsoft certifications — e.g. MS-102, and one or more of SC-100 / SC-200 / SC-300 / SC-400 / MS-700 / MD-102 (fundamentals MS-900, SC-900, AI-900 and Copilot Applied Skills highly regarded).

• A natural communicator and presenter who can hold a room — comfortable running webinars, workshops, and executive briefings.

• An established (or emerging) personal brand — LinkedIn, blogs, speaking; Microsoft MVP status desirable.

• A coach at heart, who loves growing the capability of partners and peers.

• Willingness to travel in the field across ANZ (and potentially wider, over time).
