The company specializes in bulk excavation, base preparations for roads and paths, stormwater installation, and detailed footings, supporting a wide range of civil projects in Adelaide. Its fleet includes 1–40 tonne excavators, skid steers, graders, loaders, and tipper trucks, providing versatility on diverse worksites. Excavators and graders are equipped with the latest GPS and UTS technology to ensure accurate and efficient site works. The team is supported by experienced operators, supervisors, and professional staff in accounts, engineering, and estimating.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Excavator Operator role based in Adelaide, SA. The Excavator Operator will safely operate excavators for bulk earthworks, detailed excavations, and site preparations in line with project plans and specifications. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting site drawings, using GPS and UTS systems for accurate digging and trimming, and working closely with supervisors and other operators to complete daily tasks. The role also involves performing basic machine maintenance checks, reporting equipment issues, and following all safety procedures and site rules. The Excavator Operator will contribute to efficient project delivery, maintain clean and organized work areas, and communicate effectively with the broader project and support teams.Qualifications Strong excavator operating skills, including bulk excavation, detailed footings, and trenching.Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans, levels, and site set-out information.Competence using GPS- and UTS-guided machine control systems for accurate earthworks.Knowledge of civil earthworks, road base preparation, stormwater installation, and general site works.Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices and safe operating procedures.Capability to perform basic equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and fault reporting.Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with supervisors, operators, and site crews.Valid excavator operating ticket or equivalent competency, and current driver’s license; HR or HC license is an advantage.Previous experience in civil construction or earthmoving environments, ideally within South Australia.Reliable work ethic, ability to work full-time hours on-site, and flexibility to adapt to changing project needs.
