Canai – Prahran

Canai is Roti Bar’s newborn sister, and she’s looking for her floor team.

We’ve only been operating for a week, and the attraction is already building. As the restaurant gets busier, our team needs to grow too.

We’re looking for energetic, jovial and a little bit busybody personalities to fit into our full-of-energy space. If you’re the type who notices a guest looking around before they even have to raise their hand, remembers what table needs another drink, and genuinely enjoys talking to people — you might be our kind of person.

THE ROLE

We are looking for experienced Front of House staff who can confidently handle a busy restaurant floor while still making every table feel looked after.

At Canai, FOH isn't just about carrying plates and taking orders. We want our team to talk, recommend, explain, notice and connect.

Your day will include:

• Welcoming and seating guests with confidence and warmth

• Taking orders accurately and efficiently

• Understanding our menu and confidently recommending dishes

• Explaining Malaysian food and flavours to guests who may be trying them for the first time

• Managing your own section during busy service

• Running food and drinks while keeping an eye on the whole floor

• Checking back on tables and anticipating what guests need

• Clearing, resetting and maintaining your section

• Working closely with the kitchen, bar, host and other floor staff

• Creating small conversations and making guests feel comfortable

• Helping wherever needed — no "that's not my section" attitude here

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll suit Canai if you:

• Have Malaysian Food Knowledge will be an advantage

• Have previous restaurant Front of House experience

• Can handle a fast-paced and high-volume service

• Are confident speaking to customers

• Have personality — we don't want robotic service

• Are energetic, alert and naturally observant

• Can multitask without losing your smile

• Enjoy learning about food and explaining it to customers

• Work well as part of a team

• Take initiative instead of waiting to be told every little thing

• Are reliable and understand that hospitality means showing up ready for service
