Payroll Officer

We’re seeking a capable and innovative Payroll Officer to join our high performing team. You’ll play a key role in delivering fit-for-purpose critical infrastructure, supporting resilient communities and thriving industries.

What you'll be doing:

• Process fortnightly payroll accurately, including timesheets, leave, allowances, deductions and employee changes. 
• Maintain payroll compliance through superannuation administration and accurate employee records. 
• Provide responsive payroll support to employees and managers while driving continuous improvement across payroll processes and systems. 
• Prepare and maintain accurate payroll and end-of-month reporting, including payroll reconciliations, employee cost analysis, leave liability reporting, and the provision of payroll insights to support financial reporting and business decision-making.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience in payroll processing, with a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, taxation and superannuation.
• High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage confidential information and meet strict deadlines. 
• Strong systems and administration skills, including experience with payroll platforms and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel capability. 
• A proactive, customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
