About the role

The Leader of Curriculum - PDHPE provides curriculum leadership, in line with College initiatives, to the teaching staff to strengthen and enhance teaching practices and learning. The Leader of Curriculum cultivates a learning environment that values innovation, achievement and excellence, while promoting best practice in pedagogy and professional engagement across the College.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the PDHPE team in educational administration to ensure the integrity of programming, assessment and reporting.
Ensure all PDHPE teaching programs, assessment tasks and scope and sequence documents fulfil NESA and College requirements.
Support effective and innovative teaching and learning within the PDHPE department by fostering best practice pedagogy, appropriate integration of technology into learning and implementing the Professional Learning and Growth Framework.
Promote collaboration between learning support staff and teachers to develop and implement plans for students with additional needs.
Develop and promote opportunities for student enrichment, extra-curricular activities and external examinations.
Lead academic data analysis to inform teaching and learning design and practice.
Support the Towards 2030 strategic plan for curriculum design and share in the whole College approach to curriculum planning, design, implementation and evaluation.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) with at least five years of teaching experience, including leadership experience (K–12 preferred).
Capacity and desire to actively contribute to and support the Christian ethos of Emmanuel Anglican College.
Deep knowledge of NESA requirements, NSW Syllabus and current pedagogical best practices.
Demonstrated ability to manage, lead and mentor teachers while promoting professional growth and school improvement.
Exceptional interpersonal, organisational, administrative and technological skills.
Skill in analysing student academic data to refine teaching practice and support diverse learning needs.

It is anticipated that the selection process will occur during Terms 3 and 4 with an appointment made by middle of Term 4. This role will commence in January 2027 or earlier if possible.
