Senior People Governance & Policy Transformation Specialist | Perth Central CBD | Permanent Full-time

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Senior People Governance and Policy Transformation Specialist to play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening governance, risk, compliance, and policy frameworks across our People function.

In this influential role, you'll provide expert advice and strategic guidance to ensure people governance practices align with organisational objectives, regulatory obligations, enterprise requirements, and contemporary best practice. You'll partner with senior leaders across the business to drive policy transformation, embed governance excellence, and bring a proactive risk-based approach to decision-making and prioritisation.

Your Role in Action

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of people governance, risk, compliance, and policy frameworks, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Shape and maintain the People function's risk profile, proactively identifying emerging risks, dependencies, and opportunities, while facilitating regular reviews and action planning with senior leaders.
• Drive the transformation of people policies, procedures, and processes, creating a more employee-centred, consistent, and effective governance framework that enhances the employee experience.
• Partner with leaders and delivery teams to assess governance and compliance risks, recommend practical solutions, and embed sustainable controls and accountability across the business.
• Establish and lead cross-functional governance forums and working groups, fostering collaboration, tracking key initiatives, and ensuring successful delivery of improvement outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality governance reporting and insights for Executive and Board audiences, supporting informed decision-making and organisational transparency.
• Act as the People Business Unit's governance subject matter expert on enterprise-wide projects, ensuring people-related obligations, risks, and compliance requirements are effectively managed.
• Provide specialist guidance, coaching, and support to stakeholders across the organisation, building governance capability and influencing best-practice outcomes through strong partnerships and trusted advice.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Demonstrated experience in governance, risk, compliance, policy development, or a related discipline, with a track record of delivering practical and sustainable business outcomes.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and continuously improve governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and control environments within complex organisational settings.
• Experience navigating large, matrixed organisations, building alignment across diverse stakeholder groups and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills, with the ability to assess risk, identify opportunities, and translate insights into effective action.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality reports, present complex information clearly, and influence decision-making at all levels.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Human Resources, Governance, Law, Public Policy, Risk & Compliance, or a related discipline.
