Payroll Officer

About the Payroll Officer Role:

In this role you will manage the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring staff are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance and providing trusted advice on payroll and employment conditions.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a 12 month fixed-term part-time role (0.6 FTE).

This role requires on-site attendance on Mondays and Tuesdays during pay week, with flexibility around your remaining hours and days, including the option to work in a hybrid arrangement. The role is based in our Northern Suburbs offices.

Your Passion and Commitment will see you:

• Process fortnightly payroll accurately, on time and in compliance
• Maintain payroll data, records and employee changes 
• Provide expert advice on pay, entitlements, awards and legislation
• Monitor payroll systems, processes and reporting for accuracy
• Lead payroll improvements, system changes and compliance initiatives

To succeed in this role you will have:

• Proven payroll experience, including award interpretation
• Strong industrial instrument interpretation and application
• High level of accuracy with strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship skills
• Ability to solve problems and manage competing priorities
