Accountant

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly professional, motivated, and enthusiastic Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have the relevant accounting qualifications, strong attention to detail, and a minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience.

Key Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Ensure accounting systems operate effectively and accurately, including reviewing client accounts and financial statements.

• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and interim financial statements for various clients.

• Assist with the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and business plans for clients.

• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships using MYOB Accountants Office.

• Prepare cash flow statements and other financial reports as required.

• Conduct audits, reviews, and financial checks to assess the accuracy, fairness, and completeness of financial transactions.

• Provide accounting and financial advice relating to capital expenditure, internal controls, and taxation matters.

• Ensure compliance with applicable company law, taxation legislation, accounting standards, and statutory reporting requirements.

• Monitor and assist with the preparation and management of annual budgets and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Assist clients with strategic and operational financial planning and decision-making.

• Process and manage payroll using MYOB, Xero, and QuickBooks.

• Liaise with and assist clients with various matters involving the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all accounting documentation is properly maintained.

• Communicate professionally with clients and provide timely responses to accounting and financial queries.

• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as reasonably assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Accounting or a relevant qualification.

• Minimum 1 year of relevant professional accounting experience.

• Experience with MYOB, Xero, and QuickBooks is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting, taxation, and compliance requirements.

• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Remuneration

The successful candidate will be offered a full-time salary between $75,000 and $95,000 per annum, depending on qualifications, skills, experience, and suitability for the role.
