Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Full-Time Accountant to join our team in Toorak. In this role, you will manage day-to-day financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide key financial insights to support business growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to take ownership of financial functions in a dynamic business structure.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze accurate monthly management accounts and financial statements.

• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and end-of-month processes.

• Oversee tax compliance, including the preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).

• Assist with annual tax planning, trust distributions, and corporate compliance tasks.

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.

• Monitor cash flow, prepare financial forecasts, and conduct budget variance analysis.

• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions as required.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• CA or CPA qualified, or currently tracking towards qualification.

• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a similar accounting role within Australia.

• Expert proficiency across multiple cloud accounting systems, with a mandatory requirement to be fully capable in MYOB, QuickBooks, and Xero.

• Advanced MS Excel skills are essential.

• Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, GST laws, and trust taxation concepts.

• Excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
