Chef/Cook

About the role

This is a hands-on position working across the bistro kitchen at Brycees Tavern, a local pub and bistro. You will prepare and cook traditional pub and bistro meals, working in a busy kitchen environment to deliver consistent, quality meals to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking traditional pub and bistro meals
• Grill, fryer and general kitchen duties
• Food preparation and service
• Maintaining consistent presentation, portioning and quality
• Working efficiently during busy lunch and dinner services
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
• Stock rotation and minimising food waste
• Assisting with deliveries and kitchen organisation
• Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
• Assisting with opening and closing kitchen procedures

About you

• Previous pub, bistro, restaurant or similar kitchen experience
• Experience working as a Cook, Chef or experienced kitchen all-rounder
• Confidence working across grill, fryer and food preparation
• Ability to work independently when required
• Ability to remain organised during busy services
• Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
• Strong reliability and punctuality
• A positive, practical and team-focused attitude
• Availability for a mixture of weekday, evening and weekend shifts
• Formal cookery qualifications are an advantage, but experienced cooks with strong practical skills are welcome
