The role
At ALS, our safety team is passionate about providing practical guidance, technical advice, and tailored support. We partner with our site leadership team to achieve workable outcomes for our employees and the business.
We are looking for a passionate and driven Senior HSE Advisor to support and strengthen our safety culture, aligned with our core principle: We are Safe.
Based in Brisbane, this full-time role (Monday to Friday) involves regular travel to sites across Brisbane with occasional travel to regional areas such as Townsville/Mt Isa/Orange.
Working closely with the Regional HSE Manager, you will play a key role in influencing safety outcomes across the business.
As a positive influence to drive the ALS safety culture, your responsibilities will include the following:
Support leaders and employees to ensure compliance with HSE policies and proceduresConduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigationsIdentify risks and implement corrective actionsAssist with injury prevention and managementDeliver and coordinate HSE trainingDevelop and maintain risk assessmentsMonitor hazards, near misses, and incidentsDrive continuous improvement initiativesEnsure safety systems and records are accurate and compliantCollaborate with the national HSE teamChampion HSE applications (e.g. Safety Culture App, Hazard Reporting App, Incident Reporting App)

The Essentials
Formal qualifications (Diploma of WHS minimum)Minimum 3 years of work experience in an established HSE roleConfidence in your knowledge and ability, which helps you quickly build rapport and trust at all levels of the organisationPassionate, enthusiastic, and goal-drivenExperience in incident investigations, risk assessments and auditingOrganised, level-headed and have a common-sense approachExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComputer proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, Excel and PowerPointStrong computer and numeracy skills are a must
