Digital Marketing & Ecommerce Manager (Mat Leave Contract w/ future opportunity)

We're looking for an experienced Digital Marketing & Ecommerce Manager to lead the commercial growth of Australia's leading online eyewear retailer.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll own the ecommerce strategy, work alongside our Web Developer and external agency partners, mentor our Marketing Coordinator, and drive continued growth across Shopify, paid media, CRM and customer experience.
You'll have genuine ownership of the digital roadmap and the opportunity to shape how our customers experience the Just Sunnies brand.
Whilst this role begins as a parental leave contract, we're hiring with the future in mind. For the right candidate, there will opportunities to continue growing with Just Sunnies beyond the initial contract.
What you'll be responsible for
Ecommerce & Commercial PerformanceDrive ecommerce growth through data-led strategy and optimisation.Monitor sales performance, budgets and key commercial KPIs.Lead commercial reporting and provide strategic recommendations to improve business performance.Website & Customer ExperienceOwn the Shopify roadmap and website optimisation.Improve user experience, conversion and the online customer journey.Work closely with our Web Developer to prioritise enhancements.Digital MarketingManage Google, Meta and SEO agency relationships.Oversee CRM strategy, Klaviyo and customer retention initiatives.Monitor digital performance and identify opportunities for continual optimisation.Campaigns & BrandLead the promotional and content calendar.Lead campaign planning across digital channels.Provide creative direction and support to the Marketing Coordinator to champion and evolve the Just Sunnies brand.LeadershipLead and mentor the Marketing Coordinator, providing direction, coaching and support.Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to deliver commercial outcomes.Why Just Sunnies?Work with Australia's largest online eyewear retailers.Be part of a collaborative, close-knit teamWork with leading global eyewear brands.Help shape the next chapter following our migration to Shopify Plus.Modern Gold Coast office, just minutes from the beach.Staff allowance and discounts.LocationThis is a full-time, office-based position at our Burleigh Heads office. We are not offering hybrid or remote work for this role.What We're Looking For3+ years experience in ecommerce, digital marketing or a similar commercial role.Proven experience developing and executing ecommerce growth strategies.Strong understanding of Shopify and ecommerce best practices.Experience managing external agency partners across paid media, SEO or digital marketing.Working knowledge of CRM and customer retention marketing, ideally including Klaviyo.Understanding of UX, CRO and customer journey optimisation. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify opportunities and make commercially driven decisions.Experience planning and delivering promotional campaigns and seasonal sale events.Commercial acumen, including budget management, forecasting and KPI ownership.Confident leading projects, reporting to stakeholders and mentoring team members.A collaborative, proactive approach with a passion for ecommerce and delivering exceptional customer experiences.Nice to HaveExperience with GA4, Looker Studio or similar reporting platforms.Comprehensive understanding of technical and on-page SEO.Experience managing loyalty or customer review platforms.Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with an eye for creative direction.
