Entry-Level Bookings and Dispatch Operator (Car Carrier Division)

About the Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to join our car carrier operations team as an Entry-Level Bookings and Dispatch Operator. This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career in transport and logistics, with full training provided — no prior dispatch experience necessary.

In this role, you'll support the day-to-day running of our car carrier operations, working closely with drivers, customers, and senior dispatch staff to ensure vehicles are transported efficiently and professionally.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist with scheduling and dispatching car carrier jobs under supervision

• Allocate jobs to drivers based on availability, location, and delivery timeframes

• Monitor job progress and keep customers updated on pick-up and delivery times

• Provide friendly, professional phone support for customer enquiries and bookings

• Accurately enter booking and job data into company systems

• Support the quoting process by gathering job details and referring to senior staff when needed

• Liaise with drivers to ensure smooth job execution

• Escalate transport issues or delays to senior dispatch staff

• Help close out completed jobs, ensuring data accuracy

• Assist with invoicing for non-account customers where required

• Build strong working relationships with drivers and customers

• Contribute to team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives

• Support after-hours or weekend coverage on a rostered basis (as required, with notice)

• Assist with general administrative and office duties

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar systems)

• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively

• A customer-focused approach with a professional phone manner

• Willingness to learn dispatch systems and transport processes

Experience

• Entry-level role — no prior dispatch experience required, full training provided

• Previous customer service or administration experience is advantageous

• Basic understanding of transport or logistics is a plus but not essential

• A current driver's licence is preferred
